Originating in south Asia, ground turmeric is a spice that is popular in yellow indian dishes, used to flavour rice and stews, and a range of spice mixes. Ground turmeric can be used to colour breakfast scramble, mac and cheese, and even many desserts.
It has strong, earthy flavour that presents with hints of pepper and ginger (it is actually a relative of ginger) and is widely used right across the world.
An essential item for your store cupboard, you will be reaching for it every time you make a sauce, marinade, or curry!
