A little festive magic in every bite. These spiced tartlets are a twist on the classic - filled with apricots, dates, citrus and warm spices, wrapped in a nutty almond pastry.

Makes: 10–12 tartlets

Method:

  1. In a bowl, rub the butter into flour + ground almonds until sandy.
  2. Stir in maple syrup + water to form a dough. Chill 30 mins.
  3. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
  4. Mix all filling ingredients together.
  5. Roll pastry and cut rounds, press into lightly greased tartlet tin.
  6. Top with 1 tsp marmalade + filling + pastry star.
  7. Bake 18–20 mins until golden. Cool fully before serving.
