Who said Christmas treats had to be naughty? These are full of almondy goodness.

INGREDIENTS

Makes 15

  • 125g softened butter
  • 80g organic Grape Tree coconut sugar
  • 180g plain flour 50g unsweetened
  • Cocoa powder
  • 1 egg
  • 150g whole blanched almonds
  • 100g slivered almonds
  • Icing sugar for dusting

TO MAKE

  1. Whisk the butter and sugar until they are fluffy before mixing in the egg.
  2. Sift in the flour and cocoa to make a firm dough. Then wrap it in clingfilm and chill for an hour.
  3. When cool break into 15 small pieces moulding into 5cm cones, placing them on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  4. Next press two rows of whole almonds into and around the base of each cone.
  5. Next arrange the slivered almonds in rings around the rest of the cone until you get to the top.
  6. Preheat your oven to 150 degrees and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Once cool dust very generously with icing sugar
