
To prove that store cupboard staples such as oats, cinnamon and dried cranberries can work hard to deliver value, here is our recipe for inexpensive fruit flapjacks.
INGREDIENTS
- 200g butter
 - 80g dried cranberries
 - 180g brown sugar
 - 1 tsp ground cinnamon
 - 4 tbsp organic syrup
 - Zest of an orange
 - 2 tbsp orange juice
 - 250g oats
 
TO MAKE:
- Preheat your oven to 180C, gas mark 4.
 - Grease and line a baking tray (we used 6” x 6”).
 - Place the butter, brown sugar, syrup, orange zest and juice and cinnamon in a small pan and heat gently until melted and well combined.
 - In a large bowl, mix together the oats, cranberries and melted syrup mixture.
 - Press the mixture into your tray and bake for 20 mins.
 - Leave to cool in the tray before cutting into squares and serving.
